AMCC Presents 3ware RAID Storage Technology at NAB

Las Vegas - Applied Micro Circuits Corporation has demonstrated its storage technology leadership in the digital broadcast world by showcasing its award-winning RAID technology at the 2008 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show.
AMCC spotlight 3ware RAID storage solutions for professional film applications in two product demonstrations using the 3ware 9690SA SAS/SATA RAID controller and the 3ware Sidecar during NAB in Las Vegas.

Linux-based system builder, SpectSoft, showcased its RaveHD system with an integrated 3ware 9690SA-8I SAS/SATA RAID controller to demonstrate the data availability, video compression, and instant video playback that film production workflows crave. Filmmaker Thor Wixom was featured in an in-booth 3ware Sidecar product demonstration. Shooting video footage at the show with his Red One 137 camera, Wixom processed his video in real time. He read and wrote video files to and from the desktop storage solution to demonstrate performance, capacity, and ease of use.

The Florida-based company provides wireless news broadcasting capabilities to journalists around the world. The company uses the 3ware Sidecar both in the field and in the studio to quickly and reliably store digital video files.
