Facilis Technology Releases Shared File System at NAB 2008

Las Vegas - Facilis Technology, a provider of shared media storage technology for postproduction and content creation, announced system enhancements to its high-performance shared storage environment, TerraBlock. At NAB, Facilis Technology demonstrated its new shared file system which enables multiple clients to write simultaneously into the same volumes, offering new workflow opportunities for customers.

TerraBlock enhancements for NAB 2008 include:

·              8Gbit Fiber Channel: Facilis Technology provides high-performance fiber-channel connectivity with 8Gbit fiber channel for intense 2K and HD workflows.

·               iSCSI Module: Facilis Technology introduces faster iSCSI connectivity through two new options: 10Gbit Ethernet or lower-cost 1-Gbit link aggregation. Through these networking enhancements, as many as 10 clients can simultaneously access uncompressed video over standard networking infrastructure.

·               Linux Compatibility: Facilis Technology offers enhanced Linux support for many applications, including Autodesk Smoke and Flame. The most demanding HD and 2K formats have been qualified through ATTO 4Gbit fiber channel.

TerraBlock combines intelligent drive management software with lower-cost SATA drive technology and dedicated optical fiber-channel client connectivity.
TerraBlock supports all Avid, Apple, Adobe and other non-linear editorial, graphics, and effects applications, content creation, DI, and encoding systems on various Windows, Macintosh, and Linux platforms.
