Gefen Debuts Three Dual Link DVI Systems

Woodland Hills, Calif. - Gefen has announced three new dual link DVI solutions for postproduction and industry professionals using Apple or Dell 30-inch displays with dual link DVI capability.
The new displays are capable of sustaining digital video resolutions up to 3840x2400, 1080p, or 2K using a 29-pin DVI-I female connector.
Gefen's 4x1 DVI DL Switcher, offered at $899, provides access to four computers using one dual link DVI display. Computers are controlled by a single keyboard/mouse connected through the USB 2.0 port.

The switch between computers is instantaneous, controlled by IR remote or front panel button with parallel remote and serial control options. A 2x2 DVI DL Switcher, available for $649, offers assistance for those working on extended dual link DVI desktops. It connects two computers to two dual link DVI displays, giving the user access to both computers from one workstation, with USB 2.0 keyboard/mouse control.

Both switchers are cross-platform, supply a mini-phone stereo 3.5mm audio connection, and are well suited for eliminating the need to unplug and replug multiple computers or networking a computer system. Instead, they offer a plug-and-play format that saves hardware costs while ensuring vibrant visuals and immediate access.

The Gefen 1:2 DVI DL Splitter, for $349, distributes two identical dual link DVI signals using one source, replicating the video in resolutions up to 3840x2400. This unit can be stacked with additional DVI DL Splitters to broaden the distribution.
