Maxon to Show Cinema 4D Tech, Host Guest Artists

NEWBURY PARK, CA – SIGGRAPH 2015 (Booth #715) – MAXON Computer developer of professional 3D modeling, painting, animation and rendering solutions, will demonstrate the performance and versatility of Cinema 4D and why designers rely on the professional 3D software package to create high-end 3D images and animations.

Maxon will kick off its exhibitor presence with its annual“First Day of SIGGRAPH” press luncheon and briefing. At this year’s event, Paul Babb, President/CEO, will be joined by special guest artists to present the latest advancements to Cinema 4D. (This is an invitation-only event.) 

SIGGRAPH 2015 Booth Highlights 

Visitors to the Maxon booth at SIGGRPAH will have the opportunity to see the latest Cinema 4D technology and live demonstrations of the creative role the 3D software plays in broadcast motion graphics, feature film visual effects, video games, and multimedia projects.

Cinema 4D is renowned for its seamless connectivity to popular 2D motion graphics and compositing tools. Maxon will also highlight recent collaborations with other leading software developers aimed at delivering customers new and improved Cinema 4D workflow productivity.

On the booth main stage, Maxon has invited iconic 3D artists who are pushing the boundaries of creativity, including feature and indie filmmakers, visual effects artists and motion graphic designers, to share fresh perspective and the latest techniques and a behind-the-scenes look at the Cinema 4D workflow on a wide variety of high profile projects.

Guest artists scheduled to present at time of writing include:

Nick Campbell – 3D Animator, Photographer, Motion Graphics Designer and phenom behind the acclaimed Greyscalegorilla online community and resource for Cinema 4D motion graphics tools and training, will talk about how to easily make beautiful lighting and textures in Cinema 4D, without the technical jargon.

Casey Hupke – Los Angeles-based Art Director and Content Creator known for his imaginative use of particle effects will show production and animation techniques using the Cinema 4D MoGraph toolset with X-Particles for creating concert visuals for high profile recording artists, video games, and more.

Alan Torres – VFX Supervisor and Stephen Morton, VFX Artist, at LA-based Cantina Creative will show Cinema 4D proven techniques used to create blockbuster visual effects on Avengers: Age of Ultron and Need for Speed .

Tim Clapham – Director at Luxx in Sydney, Australia, one of the foremost websites offering professional motion graphics and VFX training, will demonstrate a variety of Cinema 4D techniques and tips to facilitate efficiency and spark imagination in everyday workflows.

Brandon Parvini – Founder and Lead Creative Director of Ghost Town Media, will demonstrate the Cinema 4D workflow and approach to UI, simulation, X Particles, Octane Render and Alembic file formats on the feature horror film The Lazarus Effect and other projects.

Josh Johnson – VFX Artist, Supervisor, Trainer and Founder of VFX Daily, will provide a breakdown of shots from his most recent film, One & Two, highlighting Cinema 4D tools such as Turbulence FD, X-Particles, 3D Tracking, Camera Projection and workflows with programs like After Effects, NUKE and SpeedTree that help to create complex VFX on a tight deadline.

Athanasios “Thanassis” Pozantzis – 3D Artist, Educator and Maxon Certified Instructor, will present the latest features in Cinema 4D and show attendees tips and tricks guaranteed to take the 3D workflow to the next level.

Patrick Longstreth – Director and Visual Effects Supervisor will show the Cinema 4D creative process in creating visual effects for his acclaimed indie short film Helllyfish highlighting previsualization, modeling, animation, the RealFlow plugin for Cinema 4D, projection mapping and live-action integration.

Andy Lefton – Professional 3D and VFX artist will show the concept-to-completion workflow using Cinema 4D on his 3D animated short film, Two Worlds

Chris Schmidt – a 3D Artist, Educator and Developer of tutorials and many of the tools on the popular Greyscalegorilla site, will explore a wide range of advanced and unusual ways of utilizing Hair in Cinema 4D.

Bret Bays – A character TD at the Walt Disney Animation Studios and rigging and technical animation consultant, will show animation tips and tricks in Cinema 4D and also break down how to use the Character Object and Python to quickly and easily develop rig templates and scripts that were developed for the animated short film, The Ottoman .

Eric Demeusy – a Los Angeles film director based in Los Angeles, will be sharing an inside look into the Cinema 4D and Octane workflow from pre-production to post-production on a project that took him to the planet of Tatooine ‘in a galaxy far, far away.’

Lucas Schumacher – Lead Animator and 3D Specialist at Moment Factory in Montreal, a new media and entertainment studio specialized in the conception and production of multimedia environments combining video, lighting, architecture, sound and special effects, will demonstrate how Cinema 4D has been used for a variety of large-scale projects, from building projections for the Emporium District in Bangkok, to Jay-Z concerts and installations on the Royal Caribbean boats.

Marc Potocnik – A Maxon Certified Instructor and Founder of Renderbaron animation studio, will show animations that combine visual effects with classic visualization for several scientific-based TV-documentary programs with a focus on shading, lighting and rendering demanding shots in Cinema 4D.

Sekiani Solomon – a Designer/Animator at Imaginary Forces, will break down shots he built for the Element: Introducing Dolby Cinema open and his “fun” personal project Kendama Warrior, to show how he utilized MoGraph objects and Thinking particles in Cinema 4D to create dynamic based animations for more precise artistic control.
