Gnomon and VES Present The Visual Effects of Heroes and V

Los Angeles, Calif. - Alien invasions, cities torn apart by catastrophic disasters, and epic superhero battles all sound like yet another summer blockbuster, but for the artistic teams at Stargate Studios and Zoic Studios, it's just a typical night on television. Gnomon School of Visual Effects and the Visual Effects Society Education Committee presented a special event on the visual effects of "Heroes" and "V." Supervisors, producers, and artists from the hit TV shows provided a behind-the-scenes presentation on all that goes into executing a season of spectacular VFX.
Featured speakers included Mark Spatny, supervising producer at Stargate Studios; Eric Grenaudier, senior visual effects supervisor at Stargate Studios, and Andrew Orloff, executive creative director at Zoic Studios.

Using examples from some of the artists' most complex sequences, attendees learned some of the keys to creating stunning visuals on a tight timeline and budget.

The presentation was followed by a Q&A session.
