"45 Column"
Our December artist is Brian Dugan, who harbors an appreciation for retro-style graphics. "I always have been interested in Letterforms," says Dugan. "An image combined with the written word gets the message across like no other, and stays in the viewer's memory." In the early '90s, he traded in his traditional tools, airbrush and pencil, and transitioned to digital solutions. "I have been incorporating 3D with my type design skills. Animation and motion graphics are an extension of these skills utilizing all the latest technologies." Alias's Maya and Adobe's Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects are his software solutions of choice. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Dugan admits that he is largely self-taught in the digital world. To see more of Brian Dugan's work, visit www.briandugandesign.com.
