"Pink_Coral"
Joaquin (Kino) Gil received a Masters in Experimental Animation from the Film School at the California Institute of the Arts. He was part of the VFx production teams for the films "Contact" and "Starship Troopers" where he contributed rocket thrusters, digital "flames," and interactive light effects created with Wavefront and Renderman.
He works almost exclusively with Maya software running on a custom NT workstation he co-designed and built. Specializing in natural effects, Gil created "Pink_Coral" for an underwater sequence in the television pilot, "Atlantis Rises". "Whispy Cloud" was created for the new Warner Brother's logo using Maya and the "Digital Nature Tools" plug-in for Maya 3.1.
