Las Vegas - ATTO Technology Inc., maker of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, announced that its ExpressSAS RAID adapters will be integrated into the Sonnet Fusion RAID product line.
Sonnet is a supplier of upgrade cards, high-performance disk solutions, and accessories for Apple Macintosh computers. The integration of these products from ATTO Technology enables RAID protection for the high-bandwidth applications that Fusion RAID storage systems are designed for -- video editing work environments where performance and fault tolerance are critical.
The ATTO ExpressSAS RAID Adapter family provides SAS/SATA II connectivity and delivers fast performance with transfer rates of up to 3GB/sec. It is the industry's only low-profile line of adapters offering user-selectable port configuration options.
Advanced fault-tolerant features include hot swap, hot spares, online capacity expansion, battery back-up, and optimized disk utilization for SAS drives, SATA II drives, or any combination of the two. The ATTO ExpressSAS R348 and R380 adapters support standard RAID levels 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 and feature ATTO's Advanced Data Streaming (ADSTM) technology, making them capable of handling demanding applications such as 2K and 4K film, multiple layers of complex, uncompressed real-time effects, and high-definition video editing.
A Fusion D800 RAID system can achieve 340MB/sec., enough performance to handle uncompressed 10-bit 10804:4:4 HD, or multiple streams of DV, HDV, DVCPRO, and uncompressed SD video. A similarly configured Fusion D400 RAID features enough performance to support 10-bit 720HD and 8-bit 1080HD, as well as multiple streams of DV, HDV, DVCPRO, and uncompressed SD video.
At NAB 2007, ATTO Technology is exhibiting in booth SL4326 and Sonnet in booth SU15816.
