Las Vegas - NEC Display Solutions of America, a stand-alone provider of commercial and residential LCD and plasma displays and projectors, announced an internal HD-SDI video input/output card, compatible with NEC's MulteosT Multi-Function Series and select NEC MultiSync Information Display Series large-screen LCD displays.
The HD-SDI card can be seen at the 2008 National Association of Broadcasters Show through April 17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev. NEC Display Solutions is located in TVOne's booth, number N1725.
The HD-SDI card is the latest development in NEC's broadcasting initiatives. The card installs internally versus an external converter device, which would require additional cables and power source. Because of the HD-SDI card's ability to fit into the option slot, setup time also is reduced.
The card's compatibility with many of NEC's products (MultiSync LCD4020, LCD4620, LCD5220, LCD6520P, and LCD6520L, and Multeos M40 and M46) will be valuable to those in the broadcasting industry. "This new resourceful add-in module complements our work with TV One, which specializes in video, audio and multimedia processing equipment," says Emily Urlich, business development specialist for NEC Display Solutions.
"The card is a unique alternative to those in need of a new signal solution, and it reduces unnecessary power consumption and cost." "We are very excited about this new venture with NEC," says David Barnes, president of TV One. "Our CORIO2 technology has so much flexibility and capability that can't be found in other third-party predefined chipsets."
The HD-SDI card (SB-L007KK) will be available for May 2008 shipment. The card is not compatible with NEC's large-screen AVT models, as these versions' expansion slots already are occupied by a digital tuner.
