Atempo Inc., a provider of cross-platform data protection and archiving solutions, has introduced Atempo Digital Archive (ADA) 2.3. The enterprise-class file archiving software offers full support for Mac-centric operating environments. The software now provides full Mac OS X compatibility across all product components, a new Mac-specific administration interface, and new support for Apple Xsan and other shared file systems. Atempo Digital Archive is being demonstrated at the NAB 2009 show at Atempo’s Booth SL5729.
ADA’s new features, together with the software’s integration with Apple’s Final Cut Server, give midsize and large Mac environments a powerful file archiving platform that is particularly optimized for customers in storage-intensive media and entertainment industries.
Atempo Digital Archive enables the automated and end-user triggered movement of data from primary disk onto archival media. It integrates into even complex digital workflows to help organizations improve the overall management of their digital assets while reducing storage costs. Previously available on Windows, Linux, and Solaris platforms, the ADA server’s new support for Mac OS X gives dedicated Mac environments the ability to administer and operate the software without having to introduce and maintain another operating system. ADA’s administration console is now native to Mac OS X and has been enhanced to improve the software’s ease-of-use.
