(NAB) – Blackmagic Design has announced DaVinci Resolve 14, a major release designed to offer a new path forward in revolutionizing post production.
The release touts a performance improvement of 10x, a new audio post production suite with Fairlight audio built into DaVinci Resolve, and multi-user collaboration tools that let multiple people edit, color and mix audio from multiple systems, all in the same project at the same time.
In essence, the update to DaVinci Resolve integrates three high-end applications in one, giving customers professional editing, color correction and the new Fairlight audio tools; a single click lets them switch between editing color and audio. With the multi-user collaboration tools, customers no longer have to import, export, translate or conform projects while working together.
DaVinci Resolve 14 changes post production from a linear to a parallel workflow, so everyone can work at the same time.
A public beta of DaVinci Resolve 14 is available now from the Blackmagic Design website.
Moreover, the company announced a price reduction for DaVinci Resolve Studio from $995 to $299, and adds the new collaborative multi-users tools and over 20 new Resolve FX. The free version of DaVinci Resolve is available with the same new editing and audio post production features. It does not require a connection to the Internet or a cloud subscription.
