Montreal, Canada - Matrox Graphics Inc., a manufacturer of graphics solutions for professionals, has announced the new Extio F1220, a DualHead edition in the Extio series.
The Extio F1220 enables the extension of one or two displays, audio, two IEEE 1394 FireWire ports, and up to six USB devices, at distances of up to 820 feet (250 meters) over fiber-optic cable. By separating the computer from the user interface, the Extio F1220 eliminates noise and heat while facilitating system maintenance and support.
The Matrox Extio F1220 Remote Graphics Unit (RGU), along with the connected PCI or PCI Express (PCIe) interface card located in the host PC, are fan-less hardware components ideal for quiet work environments.
The Matrox Extio F1220 is outfitted with a Matrox-designed graphics chip armed with 128MB of graphics memory, a Dual-LC connector for fiber-optic cable, four monitor connectors to run two DVI-I or two VGA displays at resolutions up to 1920x1200 per output, six USB 2.0 ports (four in front, two in back), two IEEE 1394 FireWire ports, integrated audio hardware, an optical connector for digital audio output, and analog stereo-audio connectors for a microphone input, line input, and line output.
Bundled software for the Matrox Extio F1220 includes the Matrox PowerDesk-SE suite and display drivers for Microsoft Windows XP X64 (64-bit), Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows 2000.
Matrox Extio F1220 will be available in the second quarter of 2007.
