GDC attendees have the opportunity to take in the Independent Games Festival, held in conjunction with GDC 2008. At the event, the International Game Developers Association's (IGDA’s) board of directors and executive management provide developers a glimpse of the association's progress over the past year, as well as an indication of what is in store for this year. An extensive question-and-answer period follows, providing the staff to gain feedback and input from the community. New board candidates also are introduced.
The IGDA is a non-profit professional society committed to advancing the careers of game developers.
The Independent Games Festival will take place today, Thursday the 21st, from 1:15 pm to 2:15 pm in the West Hall, Room 3020. Boxed lunch will be provided in the meeting room.
The 10th annual Independent Games Festival serves to encourage and reward innovation in independent games.
