Munich - RTT is posing the question “What will the world be like in 2020?” to the “specialists of tomorrow” in the RTT Emerging Technology Contest and RTT Funky Visualization Contest.
The Munich-based visualization experts at RTT are again highlighting the importance of progress and technological innovation in their annual student competitions. This year will see a jury of experts--including computer graphics specialist Paul Debevec, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, and Tesla Motors senior designer Nancy Holma--honoring the best and most innovative ideas and creative concepts among the submitted entries.
In addition to high-quality prizes, winners will earn the opportunity to present their projects to an international audience of professionals at RTT Excite2011 in May.
The RTT Emerging Technology Contest has been an integral part of the RTT University Program since 2005, and will focus on “Human Environments” by looking at the challenges relating to how we will interact with our environment and everyday consumer goods in the future. The RTT Funky Visualization Contest, in its second year, will test the creative imaginations of participants. Based on “Advanced Motion,” futuristic products and everyday items will be demonstrated in 2D or 3D visualizations.
Ludwig A. Fuchs, RTT co-founder, CEO, and juror for both competitions, comments: “RTT has been dedicated for a number of years to providing extensive support to talented youngsters. Our experience has shown that in order to achieve conceptual excellence they require an exciting task that promotes creativity and which encourages a desire to test and experiment. And perhaps the chance to present at RTT Excite will be the first step to a fantastic career.”
Both competitions target universities, research teams, and students around the world. The deadline for entries for both competitions is April 15, 2011.
The prizes will be awarded by RTT’s cooperation partners. Nvidia will give away one Nvidia Quadro 6000 graphics card to each of the two winning teams of the RTT Emerging Technology Contest 2011, while winners of the RTT Funky Visualization Contest 2011 will each receive an Intuos 4M Tablet PC from Wacom.
Entries for both competitions can be submitted online at http://www.rtt.ag. For further information and questions, interested parties and potential participants can contact RTT at contest@rtt.ag.
