LONDON — Framestore (www.framestore.com) has been nominated for three VES Awards. The VES awards, now in its tenth year, recognize and honor outstanding visual effects work.
Framestore has won twice in the past: in 2010 for “Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Feature Motion Picture” - Sherlock Holmes, and in 2011 for “Outstanding Animated Character in an Live Action Feature Motion Picture” for the Dobby character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
This year Steven Spielberg’s Warhorse has been nominated for the “Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Feature Motion Picture” award. Framestore was the sole provider of visual effects for the film. The studio’s Duncan Burbidge, Ben Morris, Mike Mulholland and Chris Zeh were all recognized.
The studio has a second nomination in the category for its work on Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Framestore’s Sirio Quintavalle is one of the four credited talents.
Framestore’s commercials skills have been recognized in the form of an “Outstanding Visual Effects in Animated Commercial or Video Game Trailer” nomination for the 2011 Super Bowl spot, Coca-Cola Siege. Credit goes to Russell Dodgson, Simon French, Diarmid Harrison-Murray and Sarah Hiddlestone.
