For more than four decades, the Annie Awards—presented by the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA-Hollywood)--have recognized excellence in animation. While the awards recognize contributions to producing, directing, and more, the top award goes to Best Animated Feature. This year, the big prize was given to Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph.
Wreck-It Ralph beat out Disney-Pixar’s Scottish gem
Brave, in addition to two delightful stop-motion films,
ParaNorman from LAIKA/Focus Features
and
Frankenweenie, another entry from Disney. Other finalists in this category included:
Hotel Transylvania from Sony Pictures Animation,
Rise of the Guardians from DreamWorks Animation,
The Pirates! Band of Misfits from Aardman Animations and Sony Pictures Animation, and
