LOS ANGELES – Video Copilot has updated the high-performance Element 3D plug-in for After Effects, offering Element 3D Version 2.
Used for motion design and visual effects, it allows artists to import 3D objects directly into Adobe After Effects, and from there, bring them to life.
Version 2 is packed with new features and improvements. It has real-time shadow mapping and greatly improved ambient occlusion. Also, those familiar with the first version will instantly notice the brand-new interface, which has dozens of improvements. Video Copilot has also reworked the entire render engine to be faster and more efficient, giving artists not only better performance inside After Effects, but also better render speeds.
These elements are only a part of the massive overhaul. Some more of the many features include: shadows, dynamic reflection maps, physically based shaders, 3D distortion and deform, new material types, transfer modes and an enhanced bevel tool.
There are also three new products that are specially designed to take advantage of Version 2’s capabilities: Backlight, Pro Shaders 2 and 3D Motion Design 2.
