TUSTIN, CA — Luxion is partnering with Axalta Coating Systems, LLC to deliver high-quality, realtime visualizations of Axalta’s newest color combinations at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas the first week of November.
Luxion is a developer of advanced rendering and lighting technology. They are also the maker of KeyShot, a realtime ray-tracing and global-illumination program for 3D rendering and animation. Axalta is a leading manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings.
At SEMA, custom pinstriper and painter Danny “Danny D” Galvez is providing live demonstrations with the launch of the Axalta Artists Signature Series Cromax “Danny D” Mild-to-Wild Combinations. Attendees can watch Danny D digitally paint live in an immersive KeyShot rendering and animation experience that allows interactive, realtime ray tracing and viewing of the color combinations across a range of cars and environments.
Luxion’s realtime ray tracing technology provides users with interactive viewing and configuration control for a customized viewing experience. The viewer will immerse themselves in a full 50-inch touchscreen control panel displaying the interactive 3D view of the car complete with configuration, camera and environment controls. As many as 15 different cars and 30 Axalta three-color combinations may be switched and viewed in any orientation, all in realtime.
With a Boxx 48 core RenderPro powering the realtime view and Luxion’s rendering technology using 100 percent of all CPU power, all changes happen instantly. The viewer can interact directly with the car, change the color and camera position, and select from three environment choices that allow the viewer to experience each color combination under unique lighting situations.
The KeyShot rendering and animation program is the only rendering solution that allows customers to accurately view any color in digital form. It enables customers to make paint decisions and chose the right color combination long before the actual paint job is started. KeyShot provides customers with the ability to evaluate the rich color range of paint under real-world lighting conditions, helps eliminate unwanted surprises and is designed to give customers the highest confidence in their paint selection.
