The Foundry recently promoted Jon Wadelton to chief technology officer and head of Media Production.
Wadelton, known in the industry as “Mr. Nuke,” has driven Nuke development since 2009, through a roadmap that has seen the product transform into the industry's tool of choice. Most recently, Wadelton led the biggest shake-up of Nuke to date, bringing Nuke 9, comprising Nuke, Nuke X and Nuke Studio, to the market.
Wadelton will oversee technology and research for the entire company, while simultaneously managing Media Production for The Foundry. Media Production comprises film, episodic, commercial, games and virtual reality/augmented reality.
“Jon has an uncanny ability to see emerging technologies and trends and apply them in ways that anticipate the increasingly sophisticated and complex needs of our customers. In his new role, he will now do that at a management level, taking a long-term look at our technology development across Media Production and Design, as well as emerging growth areas like 3D printing,” says Bill Collis, chief executive officer at The Foundry.
In addition to CTO, Wadelton will continue to focus on the end-to-end pipeline for customers in Media Production. To support him in this area, The Foundry announced these additional promotions: Philippa Carroll, head of Media Production, Business Strategy and Operations; Jack Greasley, head of New Technology; Sean Brice, Nuke Product Manager.
