Another industry trade show is canceled, this one IBC in Amsterdam.
In a letter to the industry from CEO Michael Crimp, it was announced that the IBC team had been assessing and developing appropriate plans for the IBC2020 show this September. However, it became evident that a return to the (new) normal was unlikely to be achieved by then. And despite the work already put forth, too many unknowns remain. Thus, IBC and its Dutch colleagues would be unable to guarantee a safe and valuable event that attendees come to expect.
To this end, they believed it best to make a decision as early as possible concerning the show this year.
"It is also evident that important aspects of a large-scale event such as IBC will be greatly altered by social distancing, travel restrictions, masks, etc., so much so that the spirit of IBC will be compromised," the letter states.
