Vine FX is pleased to announce the expansion of its leadership team, with head of production Laura Usaite taking on a new role as managing director. Tim Kilgour joins as CG supervisor, with Maxwell Alexander joining as compositing supervisor across key projects.
The last five years have seen Cambridge-based Vine FX more than double in size, working on high-end productions including The Witcher Season 3,
War of the Worlds, and
The Lazarus Project. Now boasting a roster of over 50 staff, Vine FX is investing in its people-first culture and leadership team.
“It’s always been important to me that we not only hire good talent but look after them as well,” comments founder and VFX supervisor Michael Illingworth. “Laura has had a tremendous impact on the business, and her promotion to managing director is an important step forward for Vine FX.”
“I’m thrilled with the promotion,” says Laura, “but it’s the growth in our team that will help carve out a positive future for Vine FX and the work that we do. Hiring Tim and Max is a great investment for us. They will both help to drive our projects forward and enable us to deliver more value to our clients.”
Tim Kilgour has been appointed as CG supervisor and joins Vine FX from Territory Studio. He has worked on films including No Time To Die,
Mank, and
Man on Wire, and on long-form productions such as
Brave New World and
The Colour of Magic.
Maxwell Alexander joins from One Of Us, where he worked on projects including Luther,
The Witcher, and
Bridgerton. No stranger to Vine FX, Max previously worked with the team from 2019-2021 and is a seasoned compositing supervisor, contributing to projects such as
War of the Worlds,
The Serpent, and
Baptiste.
