The Autodesk Education Summit @ SIGGRAPH took place Monday at the JW Marriott Hotel at LA Live, where educators discussed key industry trends and best practices, connected with industry professionals, networked with peers, and learned about the latest Autodesk products and programs. Autodesk boasted such speakers as: Perry Harovas (Flashpoint Tribeca), Brian Pohl (The Previsualization Society), Peter Heckle (Project Seven), and John Tarnof(Media & Entertainment Industry consultant). All educators, teachers, or trainers who teach with Autodesk technology were encouraged to attend and participate. For those unable to attend SIGGRAPH this year, Autodesk hosted a virtual SIGGRAPH event on The AREA with product demonstrations and customer presentations streamed live from the Autodesk booth. Autodesk now offers free 13-month licenses of 3ds Max, Maya, Softimage, MotionBuilder, and Mudbox on the Autodesk Education Community for students and faculty.
