Los Angeles, Calif. - Dell has announced it is offering the latest graphics, computing processors, OS, and memory technologies in the Dell Precision workstation portfolio.
The Dell Precision Workstation family ranges from essential and advanced to screaming high performance machines, so customers can get the computing engine that meets their needs and exceeds their expectations. The portfolio includes a range of desktops, a rack workstation, and mobile laptops. The new enhancements span the entire portfolio and enable customers to accelerate applications for design, rendering, and analysis.
Dell Precision mobile workstations are designed for professional users who want to maximize their performance with certified applications, latest multi-core processors, high-end graphics, and solid support.
The portfolio, which includes the Dell Precision M6500, the 17-inch mobile workstation, and the Dell Precision M4500, the world’s most powerful 15.6-inch mobile workstation, is now available with enhanced system memory. Customers can purchase 32 GB of system memory in the Dell Precision M6500, which is an industry first for a 17-inch mobile workstation, and 16GB of memory in the Dell Precision M4500.
The Dell Precision M6500 is now available with ATI FirePro M7820 Mobility Professional Graphics from AMD, which enables users to power up to three independent displays at one time using ATI Eyefinity technology. The ATI Eyefinity technology coupled with the Dell Precision M6500 enables enhanced workflow, increased efficiency for multitasking and the ability to view more data, applications, and images at once. Watch a demo of the Eyefinity solution below.
In addition to the new memory and graphics solutions, the M6500 is offering updated Red Hat Enterprise Linux support from 5.3 to 5.5 and three new higher-frequency and performing Intel Quad-core processors at no additional cost for customers.
Dell Precision tower and rack workstations are being refreshed with the newest high- and ultra-high end graphics solutions from Nvidia, built on the Fermi architecture to combine advanced visualization with high-performance computing capabilities. The Dell Precision T7500, T5500, T3500, and R5400 workstations are all available immediately with the Nvidia Quadro 4000 and Quadro 5000 professional graphics solutions, providing our customers with options that best meet their needs. Additional Nvidia pro graphics solutions will be available on Dell’s workstation portfolio later this year.
Dell also recently announced that AMD’s Eyefinity Technology and ATI FirePro 3D professional graphics are available on Dell Precision Tower and Rack workstations. The ATI FirePro V7800, ATI FirePro V5700, and ATI FirePro V8700 professional graphics cards are immediately available with the Dell Precision R5400, T1500, T3500, T5500, and T7500 Workstations, delivering ultimate performance for workstation class applications.
Dell is also offering the new high-performance Tesla C2050 GPU computing processor on the Dell Precision T7500 workstation, transforming it into a personal computer for general-purpose scientific and engineering computing. Customer benefits of CUDA and the new “Fermi” GPUs include broad support of programming languages and APIs to express application parallelism, ECC memory for uncompromised accuracy and scalability, and a 7X increase in double precision performance compared to Tesla 10-series GPUs.
