The Mill, W+K Amsterdam and MJZ's Matthijs van Heijningen deliver the next installment of Heineken's hugely successful campaign.
Following on from the “Open Your World” campaign, started by “The Entrance” and “The Date,” The Mill has worked on the third installment of the series for Heineken's “Crack the Case.”
The spot sees Daniel Craig bring his explosive portrayal of James Bond to a Heineken commercial for the very first time… along with appearances by some classic Bond baddies.
Working alongside the creatives at W+K Amsterdam and MJZ's Matthijs Van Heijningen, The Mill's work included the colossal house of cards scene, along with CG, matte paintings and environments.
The Mill's VFX Producer Paul Schleicher says, "When we got the brief, we couldn't wait to get started on another epic project for Heineken. It's full of non-stop action in true Bond and Heineken style."
The scale of the project called on The Mill's team to come up with some new ways of working. They decided to use Vue software for generating a series of landscapes used for full CGI exterior shots as well as the exteriors seen through the windows on the train. Using these pioneering technologies combined with more traditional matte paintings and shot elements helped the team get the results needed.
The spot is part of a larger “Crack the Case” campaign that will be rolling out worldwide on multiple platforms and the online film will also include a personalized interactive experience.
