Nvizible has completed over 210 visual effects shots for Matthew Vaughn’s
Kingsman: The Secret Service
(Twentieth Century Fox / Marv Films).
Based upon Mark Millar’s acclaimed comic book, Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an
unrefined but promising street kid into the agency's ultra-competitive training
program as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
The all-star cast include Colin Firth as Harry Hart, Samuel L. Jackson as Valentine, Sophie Cookson as Roxy, Mark Hamill as Professor Arnold and Sofia Boutella as Gazelle – Arnold’s personal henchman with bionic legs.
Nvizible’s VFX work, supervised by Matt Kasmir, involved Gazelle’s bionic leg and face replacements – crucial when the action was dangerous.
For the key action sequences the Nvizible team were on set at Leavesden Studios working closely with overall VFX Supervisor, Steve Begg. These dramatic shots took part in Valentine’s swanky pad, jet, lobby and the mountain chalet.
Kasmir says: “All action had to be performed as we couldn't do impossible moves with CG doubles, this meant our characters had to be roto-animated, with Gazelle's legs tailored for each shot, for a feminine look, and blade length. Many of the moves were dangerous or needed a stunt double or multiple elements.”
The more complicated shots were pre-vised by Nvizage, supervised by Martin Chamney and Nvizible were able to work out a technical version incorporating motion control, by The Visual Effects Company. Three different motion control rigs were used including the Milo, Eiger arm and the 360 rig. All the action was then rehearsed with these high-speed rigs and sound cues moved in time to choreograph the action.

Nvizage created three main previs sequences for this project, the halo parachute jump, Roxy in space and the impressive opening shot of the film, as well as motion studies and technical previs.
Nvizible Managing Director, Kris Wright, commented: “It’s been enormously exciting to be part of another Matthew Vaughn project and one with such innovative action sequences. Kasmir, along with his team, worked incredibly hard to produce great VFX and the results speak for themselves. We are proud of the work that both Nvizible and Nvizage have achieved on this project.”
Kingsman: The Secret Service will be released nationwide in the UK and in the US on February 13.
